Sex and the pity...

Last night I went out with fellow bloggers [throughmyaiz and law ad libitum] for a girly night out with the best friends of SATC2!In anticipation of the enviable outfits courtesy of Carrie Bradshaw, we dressed as if we intended to literally walk into the big screen and unto the set. Sadly and shockingly, Carrie disappointed in both wardrobe and persona!I truly do not understand what has the whole world in luuuurve with Carrie: she is whiny and quite frankly a wee bit pathetic. The only thing I usually couldn't fault her for was her sense of style but apparently, she had lost that also. To be fair, I cannot blame her but I CAN and I DO blame Patricia Field!!

Cute dress...with turban???

Words cannot describe how ill these Jeans made me feel

I should never be able to read the news on an item of clothing

On the other hand, the person who ALWAYS looked stunning was Miranda??!! Good on her!!

Perks of the Job..

For all my sighs and complaints, the one thing I LOVE about working at SL are the perks of the Job.

What perks you say? glad you asked...

Access to pretty much every event that is even remotely related to fashion.

For example, I am currently awaiting the tickets to be sent to me for Graduate Fashion Week [GFW if you're down] and The Clothes Show London!! All is right in the world!! - I shall of course write about all said events after attending BUT for now let me just give you a wee hint of the festivities to come...

Glow hard but go easy!!

Ok so the company Illlamsqua have released a make-up collection by the name of Body Electric which is inspired by kinetic energy and movements of the body.

It is a blend of creams, oils and powders with hyper-pigmented light particles that 'ignite the skin' and essentially amount to make-up for the entire body.

The colours sure are pretty but I strongly believe all things should be done in moderation. I learnt the hard way that there is a fine line between a radiant glow and Alex Mack.

Light shimmer? YES!! Toxic waste-like glow? Not so much...

A Tribute to the blazer.

Since I am 'blazer whore',I thought it only fair that every now and then, I should salute my blazery friends. From the runway, to the celebrities and then riiiiight into my loving arms!I own approximately 15-20 and I have my eyes set on many more...

Here's to you oh blazer-you have seen me through many an ugly day!!

Can you even FIND me in that last one? Hmmm....??

The chicken or the egg???

This is a question that has plagued mankind for centuries BUT after noticing a startling similarity between certain celebrities and their cartoon counterparts...I think the more perplexing question is: which came first? The Cartoon OR The Celeb????

Check out these uncanny resemblances and then riddle me THAT?!

Betty Boop vs Dita Von Teese...

Penelope Pitstop vs Paris Hilton...

Princess Jasmine vs Kim Kardashian...

Wonder Woman vs Katy Perry...

Is it time we start looking to the cartoons for the latest fashion?? Again I ask which came first: the cartoon or the celeb??...

If you can think of any more celeb/cartoon doppelgangers, find them..tell me and I shall add it to the list.xxx

Dying to Succeed...

Ok well inspite of the crazy drama in the fashion world, I still like the actual content of my work and as such, I pretty much work myself to the bone in order to ensure that my internship transcends into some sort of actual employment status. However, when I used the phrase 'dying to succeed', I did not mean it in its literal capacity but a few weeks of second hand smoking later, I came to the realisation that this is actually the case...

My discovery is that in order to be successful in the fashion industry, you need a smidgen of talent, a dash of confidence and the rest is bloody well down to networking yourself silly! So when everyone decides to go for drinks after work,it is literally suicide to refuse to attend.

God forbid you dare to go home and I don't know...sleep? NO NO, you must prioritise and that of course means downing an endless supply of cocktails [no complaints there] BUT also suffering from the cancer fumes that are being blown directly into your lungs!!

I am extremely opposed to the idea of smoking but I am dying to succeed...I just hope and pray that the success part precedes the death!!

Osman Yousefzada

For all my love for all things fashion flavoured, I really had no clue as to who Osman Yousefzada was until approximately one week ago...

Now, I am most def in the know and courtesy of my internship at SL [Skinny Latte], I had the opportunity to attend his catwalk show last Friday and I thought I would share some pics with you all!!

I am not certain that I would wear ALL his clothes but ho hum...he is rich and I am not...so what does my opinion matter??

ENJOY.xxx

IF I were an intern....

Ok so [semi] recently, I began an editorial 'internship' at a company which I shall call Skinny Latte [hereafter SL]. I have heard many horror stories about lowly interns having to do grunt work and I fully expected to be fetching coffee and if I was lucky, perhaps being permitted to showcase my journalistic talents as an attendee at the odd fashion show. At the time, I agreed without a seconds hesitation: it was my dream job and sure there would be no financial remuneration, but why should there be? I was naught but an intern...

Fast forward a couple of weeks and all such illusions have been shattered and like some sort of twisted baptism, I have been fully immersed into the warped world that is the fashion industry. Think 'Running in heels' meets 'the hills' AND 'the city'...minus ANY possibilty of meeting hot guys and a WHOLE LOT MORE WORK and there you have it - a day in my life!!

Lauren Conrad - eat your heart out...I have your job and yet I do not have your salary, wardrobe or status...oh wait...WHAT was my point again???
