Well a lot of people ask me what I do make-up wise, so it's time to finally share. It is weird to think there was a time when the only make up I wore was blooming lip balm and a smile. Oh my how times have changed.
Ok, in no particular order, this is what goes into making my face look like this...
For my skin
M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Dark Deep
AVON Arabian Glow Blusher/Bronzer [hell if I know which it is - it was totes a gift]
Some shimmery gold stuff from Superdrug called Shimmer Souffle
A powder brush from Superdrug
A blusher brush from somewhere [my mum bought it for me]
Prior to last week, I didn't really wear anything on my skin apart from the shimmery gold stuff and the blusher/bronzer as I HATE foundation. I honestly cannot stress how awful I think the stuff is and how restrictive it makes social calls as you can't hug anyone without smearing your face on them. More importantly, [in my opinion] it looks evidently like you have something on your face and I hate that plastic-y finish. [RANT OVER]
However, I found that in pictures, my face had a tendency to turn out very shiny and after watching many beauty blogger YouTube videos, I started to contemplate getting a foundation, if only for special occasions. After some advice from a friend, I decided to get the M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder instead, and can I say that I LOVE IT. It is light, but provides a smooth matte finish that I cannot get over. Light enough for everyday wear, but amazing enough to look super glam. I am starting to sound like a sales girl now, so I am stopping. Anyway, I lightly dust that on my face, use some AVON Arabian Glow on my cheek bones and top off with the gold shimmer on the apple of my cheeks.
M.A.C Spiked Eyebrow Pencil
Shu Uemura Liquid Eyeliner
M.A.C Studio Finish Concealer in NC50
M.A.C Angle Brush
Now, if you've ever read a word a type, you KNOW I have a thing about my brows. I wasn't blessed with naturally thick brows [totes jealous of you girls with thick, black brows], so I have to use my GCSE art skills to make up for my shortcomings. I use the brow pencil to draw on the shape, and the concealer and the angle brush to define the shape. I am a new lover of the angle brush. Honestly, I had no clue what these bloody brushes do, but gosh darnit, I love the angle brush!
I totally forgot to mention Mascara, but I use Rimmel Volume Flash mascara in black extreme.
Anyhoo, I have also been on the quest for the best liquid eyeliner. Again, prior to last week, I used M.A.C black track, but a trip to Selfridges totally changed me and a savvy and pretty sales lady converted me to Shu Uemera.
The thing I love about this liner, is not only the fact that it's super dark but also, it LASTS ALL DAY. I applied the liner in this picture at 7am this morning and over 12 hours later, it is still very much intact. The liner is literally like a fountain pen for your eyes. I love it. It has a fine point so you can draw the perfect line and do all that cat-eye malarkey and when it runs out, you simply buy a re-fill cartridge and keep it moving. Amazing!
M.A.C Lipstick in Russian Red
I obviously wear loads of different lippies, but I am known for my red lipstick and the above shade is my latest fave.
Well, erm, now that I've literally written a manuscript, is it too late to promise you that I don't look like a monster underneath it all??
